Hey everyone!
I know it’s been FOREVER since I’ve posted. Since the last episode, I took a hiatus to work on my screenplay and I’ve finally gotten it to a point where I would call it done. It was named the Project of the Week at celtx.com so…I’m psyched about that. If you’d like to read, check it out:
How the Story Goes
Let me know what you think or if you have suggestions. Please
Periodically, I get emails from people checking to see if I’m alive and if I’ll be working on the next episode. One that I got today really makes me feel like I’m ready to get back to writing. If you read this blog, stay tuned and help me spread the word that I’ll be working on the next episode.
I’m somewhat toying with the idea of writing it in the screenplay format. What do you think? Would it just be weird at this point? Or would it be…fresh. I dunno.
Hopefully you guys are still out there…

I’ve posted the latest episode and I think I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It might be lacking one last final polish so hopefully there are no major continuity or grammar or formatting errors. I’m sure there are. Ah! I really do like how this turned out and Knowhere really, really, really helped me out because I knew there were things I didn’t like, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. She pointed out precisely where the uncertain spots were and I think I was able to make the episode a LOT better because of it so…THANKS go out to knowhere the amazing beta reader!
If you like it, let me know. If you hate it, let me know.

Does anyone remember if Jill’s dad knows about Jake? I vaguely recall a conversation…in a garden? Did I dream that up? I want to think that he knows and, obviously, isn’t saying anything to Monica. Hmm. If you do recall, let me know! Thanks

I’ve opened up the episode time and again to make absolutely no progress, but finally this last time I wrote a few scenes and I have a better idea of the direction. Sometimes I’m into outlines, but I haven’t felt like doing one for this episode. I guess what’s putting me off is that I know this episode could be really kickass if maybe, say, Kevin Williamson was writing it. With me, it’s just okay-ish. Not that I’m all crazy and down on myself…I just want this episode to be more than it’s amounting to, I guess. Anyway, off to write more, and thanks for checking in. The love is always, always, always appreciated.

As I said before, the basic scenario of the next episode is that everyone goes on a weekend ski trip to a cabin in the mountains. Things start to get scary and weird very quickly. Looking at the pages, I’m oh, five-twelfths of the way done with this episode. I’m writing a lot of scenes with a lot of characters (like, about 12) in them. It’s a little confusing assigning the dialog. I’ll get a good flow going then I realize that Jill or someone hasn’t said anything in awhile. It’s hard getting everyone a say so that the reader doesn’t also forget certain people are there. In a way, I’m regretting that EVERYone came on this little weekend getaway, but I can’t think of anyone who isn’t helping to advance the story so…I guess they all stay.
Another random thought, I wonder if Jill had to choose again between Scout and Sean…who would she pick? Like, if she literally started all over again…if she met them both at the same time and truly had the option to choose between them as potential suitors, who would it be? Thoughts?

It actually snowed a little here last weekend. I know some places are getting hit with blizzards. Weird weather…but good for my state of mind while trying to write about ski cabins. Anyway, still working on the episode. The teen horror movie aspects are fun. I’ve always loved Scream.

I’ve been working on the next episode, partly while on vacation in Florida. Everyone is going to end up in a cabin on the side of a mountain. Then, the weirdness is going to begin. Messages on the wall, shadows in the woods, that kind of thing. Nothing like the actual movie Cabin Fever, though. That would just be gross. Anyway, it’s always hard to manage episodes where so many characters are present at one location. I’ll write a bunch of scenes then think, “Hmm…where’s Will been all this time?” Then I either have to go interject him into a scene or write a whole new scene to explain that he’s off taking a nap or making a sandwich or somehing. It’s also weird writing this episode because it takes place in the fall, in the mountains. There is going to be snow, but…it’s so nice outside! Hard to get into the sitting by the fire mindset while sitting by a pool in Florida. Anyway, I’m off to momentarily enjoy the spring before getting back to work.

I’ve posted a new episode. I like it, but it may be too far away from canon to make people happy. I hope not!

You know, it’s funny how well people have responded to Jake and Scout. I’m pretty good at that whole build-up thing, but…then what? I guess I’ve always loved romantic comedies, but they end at the kiss. With Scout and Jake, I’m at the “then what?” part. Unlike in the movies, I don’t get to fade out and roll credits. So what now for Jake and Scout? And how to undo this eventually so as to do it all over again for Jake and Hamilton? Hmm. And to what point can I push Scout so that it’s still believable for him to be okay with the inevitable reunion of Jake and Hamilton? Or maybe he won’t be okay with it? But I kind of think he will be. That’s the place he’s at right now. He’s just…okay with everything how it happens to, well, happen. Anyway, just some random musing. The bell signaling the end of my planning is about to ring. And, yes, I already did all my work :)

Okie-dokie…finally got a new episode out. I think it turned out pretty well. I’ve been planning this episode for, like, two years so I’m glad it’s finally made it to fruition. Maybe it’s been three years? Or more. Scary. So, what I’m trying to say is, I’ve been trying to kill off Johanna and all story lines associated with her for quite sometime. This is somewhat ironic since the next episode will be all about Meagan…but then I’m done. Maybe a cameo from Mark every once in awhile. Of course, there are plenty of other original characters…but at least they’re teenagers. Oh, well, except Alyssa’s mom…who’s going to be a super-bitch, by the way. I’ve haven’t quite figured out how, but she is really going to screw with Hamilton or Jake or both. Plus, she’ll be after the dean…and maybe she’ll find success. Anyway, I’m watching a cool Kevin Smith thing. And evening with Kevin Smith. Hilarious. If you read the episode, I hope you enjoy it. Feel free to give me suggestions for future episodes!
